Top-Rated Utah Home Care Agency Kevin WhatcottHomewatch CareGivers has a long history of success in providing superior home care services, beginning with its founding by Paul Sauer in 1980. In 2006, Kevin Whatcott opened a Homewatch CareGivers office in Salt Lake City, Utah, followed by offices in Orem, Utah and Roy, Utah.

After practicing law for over 10 years, Kevin saw a need in his own parents that was not being met. His mother had started to exhibit signs of Alzheimer’s disease and his dad was losing his sight to macular degeneration. In looking for solutions to keep his parents in their Salt Lake City home, Kevin found Homewatch CareGivers. He opened his Homewatch CareGivers office in Salt Lake City in 2006, which quickly grew to one of the largest home care agencies in Utah. Kevin immersed himself in the business of providing solutions to families looking to give seniors and disabled individuals the chance to age in place, staying in the environment in which they feel most comfortable, their own home.

As his mother’s Alzheimer’s disease progressed, Kevin sought information and involvement in the Alzheimer’s community. He became a certified instructor in Pathways to Memory, an Alzheimer’s program offered only by Homewatch CareGivers.

Kevin was trained in Alzheimer’s interventions by the Alzheimer’s Association of Utah. Governor Herbert appointed Kevin to the Alzheimer’s State Plan Task Force, which drafted Utah’s first Alzheimer’s state plan, adopted by the Utah Legislature in 2012.

But, Kevin’s greatest success in his Homewatch CareGivers business has been with his own parents. His mother passed away 2009 after battling Alzheimer’s disease. His father died of a broken heart nine months later. Both of them were able to stay in their home right to the end, where they were most comfortable and happy.

Kevin continues to manage Homewatch CareGivers of Utah with the same attention he gave to his own parents. He continues to seek solutions that allow individuals, whether they are elderly, disabled or convalescing, the joy of staying among family and friends in an environment of their choosing.

Kevin is a licensed attorney, member of the Utah State Bar, and a Certified Senior Advisor.
